Grand Series Waiver & Release of Liability

By registering for or participating in any Grand Series event, operated by Grand Athletics (GA), you acknowledge and agree to this Waiver & Release of Liability. You also agree to comply with the Grand Athletics Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

General Release of All Claims

In consideration of my voluntary participation, I assume all risks of injury, illness, or property damage arising from or related to my participation, including but not limited to bodily injury or death.

I fully release, hold harmless, and forever discharge the following "Released Parties":

• Grand Series
• Grand Athletics (GA)
• Event venues, schools, colleges, universities, cities, counties, and facility operators hosting Grand Series events
• Any governing athletic organizations, timing companies, or officials involved in the event
• Sponsors, contractors, staff, volunteers, and affiliates associated with the operation of any Grand Series event
• Including but not limited to Notre Dame High School (Sherman Oaks, CA), Cerritos College, Los Angeles Valley College, and their respective trustees
• The City of Sherman Oaks, City of Norwalk, City of Van Nuys, the County of Los Angeles, and the State of California
• Any additional site owners, event partners, facility hosts, or sponsors not specifically named but associated with the event now or in the future

This release covers all claims, including negligence, acts, or omissions of the Released Parties, and applies to all current and future Grand Series events.

Acknowledgment of Risks

I understand that track and field activities involve inherent risks, including injuries, accidents, dehydration, heat-related illness, and other physical hazards. I accept full responsibility for my own medical needs, hydration, and emergency supplies. No medical staff will be present on the track or at the venue.

Binding Agreement

This release is binding on my heirs, assigns, personal representatives, and next of kin. If any part is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain fully enforceable.

Meet Rules & Competition Guidelines

Participants agree to abide by all rules and regulations as outlined in the official Meet Rules & Competition Guidelines.

Medical Consent

I authorize emergency medical treatment if necessary and accept full financial responsibility. The Released Parties are not liable for medical care or expenses.

Media Release

I grant Grand Series, GA, and event partners the right to capture and use my name, image, voice, and performance in photos, videos, or interviews for marketing or promotional purposes worldwide without compensation.

Indemnification

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims, demands, actions, costs, liabilities, or expenses, including legal fees, arising from my participation, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

Spectator & Non-Participant Acknowledgment

This waiver also applies to non-participants including coaches, staff, volunteers, parents, vendors, and media present at events. All such individuals assume full responsibility for risks and release all Released Parties from liability for injury, illness, or property damage, including claims arising from negligence.

Event Scope

This waiver covers all activities related to Grand Series events: competition, training, coaching, officiating, volunteering, team management, spectating, media work, vending, and facility use. Applies to all current and future events hosted, co-hosted, or affiliated with Grand Series, at any venue, city, county, or state.

Minor Participants

If under 18 years old, a parent or legal guardian must acknowledge this release during registration.

Media and Content Usage Rights

By attending, participating, or being present at any Grand Series event, hosted and operated by Grand Athletics (GA), you acknowledge and agree to the following rules regarding media, photography, videography, and content usage.

Content Ownership

All content captured at Grand Series events, including photos, videos, live streams, audio recordings, and digital media (collectively, "Content") — whether captured by GA staff, partners, participants, spectators, vendors, or media representatives — is the property of Grand Athletics and Grand Series. By attending the event, you grant GA the unrestricted right to use, reproduce, publish, distribute, and modify this Content for promotional, marketing, commercial, educational, or any lawful purpose worldwide, without compensation or further consent.

Restrictions on Third-Party Use

• No individual or organization may post, share, sell, or distribute Content from Grand Series events without explicit written consent from GA.
• Content captured using personal devices (phones, cameras, tablets, drones, etc.) is subject to the same ownership and usage rules.
• Misrepresentation of the event, affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement through posted Content is strictly prohibited.
• All Content posted publicly must include proper credit to Grand Series / Grand Athletics when permission is granted.
• GA reserves the right to request removal of any Content that violates these rules.

Applicability

These rules apply to all individuals attending, participating, or working at Grand Series events, including but not limited to:

• Participants and athletes
• Spectators, guests, and family members
• Coaches, volunteers, staff, and event organizers
• Media personnel and vendors
• Anyone capturing Content on any device at the event

Agreement

By entering a Grand Series event venue, you agree to abide by these Media and Content Usage Rights, as well as the Grand Athletics Terms & Conditions and Grand Series Terms of Use. Your presence and participation constitute your acknowledgment and legal acceptance of these terms.
